Opera, Modern Dance, Live Rock and Hip-Hop, Street Parade and Guitar Hero competition – Five recommendations for things to do in the next two weeks in Israel:

Opera – Giacomo Puccini’s Torandot at the New Israeli Opera. 7^th-22^nd of March. Last few tickets for the much raved production are available at 03-6927777 (from out of the country dial 972-3-692-7777). Performing art center of Tel Aviv (HaMishkan).

Dance: I’m Mean, I am, by Yasmin Godder dance company. One of Israel’s promising choreographers in her latest piece. Thurs. March 20^th Suzanne Dellal Dance theater, Neve Tzedek, Tel Aviv. Tickets (972) 03-5105656.

Parade: Ad-lo-yada 2008, the Purim parade in the city of Holon. Excellent way to celebrate Purim with the kids. 4000 kids and parents in costumes parading trough the streets Sokolov, Whitzman & Hanesi’im. Street artists, live bands, street theater, acrobats, Jugglers and more. The parade will end at the corner of Golomb St. with a live music concert and lots of pyrotechnics. Friday March 21^st starting at 12 noon.

Live Music: The Giraffes, The Streets, Berry Sakharoff and Ha’dag Nahash all on one stage in a very special one time concert. Hip Hop and Alternative Rock from Israel and UK. April 5^th at Hangar 11 – Tel Aviv Port. Tickets at (972) 03-7694747 or (972) 03-5215200.
