Israel doesn’t have the post X-mas shopping hysteria. Most of us don’t celebrate Christmas and thus we don’t have to shop for gifts and the shops have no special incentive to drop prices or go on sale at the beginning of January. We do have regular end-of-season sales, but they don’t start on the same day or even week, and they are just not as drastic as we would like them to be…
Still, Israelis love to shop just as anyone else and they like to travel, and the Israeli fashion industry realized quickly that if it doesn’t want to loose its customers to mega stores in London, New York, Milan and Paris they should organize local fashion fairs where people can buy famous brands and designers fashion in fare prices. This is how two important shopping fairs came to life in Tel Aviv: The Designers Fair and the Brand’s Fair. Each takes place twice a year and this way Israelis can enjoy good shopping hysteria every three months…
This weekend – Thursday May 29 to Saturday May 31 – The Brand’s Fair (Yarid HaMutagim in Hebrew) will pump you up with stylish fashion till you cant take it no more. Be prepared to pay 15 NIS at the entrance and bring your credit cards… According to the fair’s organizers you’ll be able to find here items at 30- 80% discount… and that’s no joke. Also, be ready for a busy atmosphere: lots of young people, loud music, shows and all sorts of other gimmicks. Among the 60 participating Brands (International and Israeli): Versace, Sack’s, Puma, Irit, TagWomen, Diesel, Lee, Blue Bird, Lee Cooper, Sabotage, Nako, Fila, DS, Mam’z, Oneill, Celio, Bernard, Payota, Overdose, Jiffa and many more.
When: Thursday (May 29) 4pm-Midnight, Friday (May 30) 10am-8pm, Saturday (May 31) 10am-Midnight.
Where: Bitan # 1, Ganie HaTa’arucha (Near the Luna Park), Tel Aviv.
