Boombamela Festival Sun Sand Sea Freedom Music Love

Boombamela Festival (Apr. 24-26) is celebrating its 10^th anniversary this year and you are all invited to pack your swim-suits (or not – nudity is perfectly fine and acceptable) and party gear and get to Nitzanim Beach – where you will enjoy 3 days of Music, Love, Freedom, Art, Sand, Sun, Sea and every possible Shanti Fun you can think of. This year’s theme is “Bring yourself out”, which basically means, allowing yourself to be who you really are. For all those who are not familiar with the Shanti-related festivals of Israel, this is what you should know: the festival is a gathering of thousands of young people (18-45) – some arrive at the festival with there kids. People build their own “Zoola” – camping area – Sinai Style – and for a few days relax in the sun while listening to music, meeting new shanti friends, meditating, shopping for shanty clothes, jewelry and accessories and having lots of fun on this beautiful sandy beach.

Live music performances are diversified and usually include World Music, Electronic music, Rock, Ethnical bands, Dub, Reggae etc. The line up (in English) for this year’s stages and parties will be published on April 10^th – so check out Boombamela web site. Other attractions on the festival: Street theater, The Boombamela Totem, The Boombamela cinema, Angel walk, kapuaira, “Hamam” (Turkish bath, hot bucket), Sauna, Free sculpturing with sand, Ceremonies, The Salsa Stage, The Circus, Mkadah (Etheiopian community and crafts), Soccer, The central fire, Dub marathon and Body painting.

Since the spring is already here and the hot summer is just around the corner this is a perfect opportunity to enjoy Nitzanim beach with friends or family – the gorgeous Mediterranean sea is waiting for you all.

Where: Nitzanim Beach, 40 min. south of Tel Aviv and 45 min. from Jerusalem (The parking space is located 3miles east from boombamela city. What can we eat: The festivals food fair provides many kinds of delicacies at reasonable prices.

What can we do when we run out of money: The nearest A.T.M is at the “cosmos” center’ a 5 minutes drive south from the festivals parking lot. At the cash registry for food coupons it will be available to trade money from credit to cash for a 5 shekels commission, 24 hours a day, this year visitors will be able to buy food with “CHANGE” the boombamela money coupons, which are available at the center of the fair.
