This photo of the Haxagonal pool  (Hebrew: Meshushim) was taken by a friend on a day trip to the Golan Heights. Located in the Meshushim canyon with its spectacular views of the Sea of Galilee, the pool is deep, big, cool, complete with waterfall, and surrounded by basalt hexagonal pillars. The parking lot to the pool is near the community of Had Nes. (Tel: 04-6820238)

The Golan is a plateau on the border of Israel, Lebanon, Jordan and Syria. Its geographical borders encompass about 1,800 square kilometres in area, although the term often refers only to the 1,200 square kilometres of this territory that are disputed between Israel and Syria. “Golan” is the name of a city mentioned in the Bible as a “City of Refuge”.

Wonderful scenic treasures await you in the Golan Heights. Gorgeous nature reserves, historic and archaeological sites, rivers to swim in formed by rainwater and melted snow are jsut a few examples. It is a delightful area to spend a few days to relax and recharge and with health SPAs and a great selection of quality accommodation choices available,  you will return to the urban world feeling completely refreshed.
